Raquel Castro aka Raquel Magdalena Castro born on November 17, 1994, is an American actress and singer. She gained recognition for her role as Gertie Trinké in the 2004 film “Jersey Girl,” where she portrayed the daughter of Ollie Trinké (Ben Affleck) and Gertrude Steiney (Jennifer Lopez).
Castro received the Young Artist Award for the Best Performance in a Feature Film – Young Actress Age Ten or Younger for her role in the movie. In addition to her acting career, she participated as a contestant in the American version of “The Voice.”

Acting Career
Raquel Castro began her acting career with an appearance in an episode of the television series “Third Watch.” Her breakthrough came when she played the daughter of Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez’s characters in the 2004 film “Jersey Girl,” directed by Kevin Smith.
Following this, she appeared in various projects, including a 2005 episode of “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit” titled “Alien” and the independent film “Little Fugitive.” Castro also had a role in two episodes of “Liv & Maddie” in its second season.
In 2006, she played the character Nicole in the music video for the Ludacris song “Runaway Love,” alongside Mary J. Blige. The music video addresses issues of abuse and self-consciousness.
She continued her acting career with a role in the 2007 independent film “Tracks of Color” and appeared in “The Ministers” (2009), starring John Leguizamo. Raquel Castro also dedicated several years to dance, attending a dance studio with her younger brother on Long Island.
Singing Career
Raquel Castro participated in the first season of the reality television singing competition “The Voice.” She successfully made it through the Blind Audition round and was coached by Christina Aguilera. Although she reached the first round of the Live shows, she was eventually eliminated along with Lily Elise.
Following her appearance on “The Voice,” Castro recorded a cover of Christina Aguilera’s “Ain’t No Other Man” and posted it on YouTube. She considers Aguilera and Selena as her idols and major influences.
In 2012, Castro released her first single titled “Diary,” which was written by Alyssa Bonagura and Ted Bruner, produced by J Chris Griffin, and released on iTunes and CDBaby. She also uploaded the music video for “Diary” on YouTube and released a dance remix of the song in March 2012.
She continued her musical journey with the release of the single “Game Over” on January 29, 2013, written with the help of the IDA Program. In 2019, Castro provided vocals for the theme song of the Netflix Original Series “Carmen Sandiego.”
Additionally, Castro participated in season 2 of NBC’s Songland, presenting her song “Wrong Places” to H.E.R., who chose the song to be included in her album.
