Rameswari married her FTII classmate and friend, Punjabi actor-producer Deepak Seth. The couple has two sons, Bhaskara Pratap Seth and Surya Prem Seth. She took a break from acting to raise her children but returned to the screen in the 2000s, taking on mature roles. Rameswari and her husband produced a Hindi film titled *Hum Farishte Nahin* (1988) and a Punjabi film titled *Mein Tuun Assin Tussin* (2007), which was based on Shakespeare’s play *The Comedy of Errors*. Recently, she has been working in television series.

Acting Career

She began her career with the Rajshri’s hindi film “Dulhan Wahi Jo Piya Man Bhaye” in 1977. The movie was a phenomenal hit and made her a household name. In 1985, she made her ollywood debut with the film “Manini”. She also has acted n various tv serials like America Ammayi, Kairi, Mitwa Phool Kamal Ke, Jabb Love Hua, Babul Ka Aangann and etc.

In 1978, she played the title role in K. Viswanath’s Seetamalakshmi (Telugu), for which she received the Filmfare Award for Best Actress – Telugu. Some of her other notable films include Sunayana with Naseeruddin Shah, Mera Rakshak with Mithun, and Sharda and Aasha with Jeetendra, with the latter earning her a Filmfare Nomination for Best Supporting Actress. In addition to Hindi and Telugu films, she has also acted in Odia and Malayalam movies.
