Dukhiram Swain was an Indian Odia film and television actor known for his portrayal of villains in Odia cinema. Born in Daraba, Jagatsinghpur district, Odisha, he was a linguist who spoke several languages fluently.
Swain began his acting career at Annapurna Theatre in Cuttack. His first movie was “Sri Lokenath” in 1960. Over the years, he gained a cult status for his negative roles but also acted in various other roles, including hero, comedian, and character roles.
Swain was married to the late Mrs. Hemalata Swain. He is survived by two sons, Mr. Akash Kumar Swain (Jagatsinghpur) and Mr. Prithiviraj Swain (Cuttack), and one daughter, Mrs. Dharitri (Swain) Das.
